Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans, or line them with parchment paper.
  2. Sift together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Whisk eggs, milk, oil, and vanilla extract in a separate bowl until combined.
  4. Gradually add wet ingredients to dry ingredients, stirring gently to combine.
  5. Stir in boiling water until the batter is smooth and thin.
  6. Fold in whiskey thoroughly to infuse the batter.
  7. Divide batter evenly between prepared pans and tap pans to release air bubbles.
